SKEET-R-GONE
Quick Facts
What
is it?
Skeet-R-Gone
is a concentrate injection device for underground sprinkler
systems. It allows
homeowners to quickly and easily spray their yards for mosquitoes and other pests.
How does it work?
1) Liquid concentrate is injected into the sprinkler system by a 160 PSI oscillating
diaphragm
pump that is housed in an exterior enclosure. This enclosure also houses the
bottle of
concentrate.
2) The concentrate is pumped through a small tube that connects to a special
mixing chamber
and saddle valve. These are installed directly onto the main water supply after
the backflow
preventer.
3) The pump is controlled by a wiring harness that leads to the Skeet-R-Gone
controller, which
is mounted next to the sprinkler system control panel.
How does it operate?
1)
After the normal watering cycle or a significant rain event
(applications are not intended to be
done during normal watering cycle):
2) Manually activate a zone on the sprinkler system,
3) Push red activation button on the Skeet-R-Gone controller for pre-determined
number of seconds (typically 3-5 seconds), then release,
4) Allow zone to run for an additional one minute (30 seconds to mix & distribute
concentrate
and 30 seconds to flush the zone), then deactivate zone,
5) Repeat activation steps (1 - 3) for each zone.
What
concentrate should be used?
Skeet-R-Gone recommends the use of ecologically, biologically friendly concentrates
only.
Concentrate is not included with Skeet-R-Gone units. The homeowner or service
provider may
choose the concentrate based on the desired control issue. See the "links" page
at
